The "Village of Flying Houses" is the ideal tour for those looking for great road trips in Europe and who want to get to know some beautiful towns in the Spanish countryside. The tour combines 4 astonishing places, including such as Cuenca and Albarracín. These historic villages are truly wonderful to visit and, most importantly, to drive there.
The roads, sights and places in this part of Spain are undervalued, but here at “On The Road” we think it is time to introduce them to international tourism and not just local visitors, and to discover the hidden wonders that are Cuenca and Albarracin.
Cuenca is the town that
gives this tour its name, and this is because Spanish people refer informally to its “casas colgadas”,
which means literally “hanging houses”. The town is medieval and romantic. We recommend exploring the
stone streets, the antique buildings and the cathedral.
Arrive at Valencia airport and check in on your vehicle then you will be on your way to the first hotel near the city center. Check in at the hotel and have some time to relax before dinner. If the flight arrives in the morning, we have prepared a lovely restaurant on the famous Valencia port.
Next step on tour is a magnificent little town called Alcala del Jucar, where you will have lunch. The town is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. Visit the town and have lunch in a restaurant situated in an oriel across town. Next step is an out breathtaking medieval village named Alarcon, which your next hotel is located. Arrive at the hotel, check in and have some time to visit the town and relax before dinner.
Check out from hotel to your next destination, the enchanting Cuenca, where you would stay in a hotel that was once a monastery, later on, you will have lunch in a typical Spanish restaurant and visit the village of flying houses. Then, have dinner in a romantic restaurant near the hotel.
Check out from the hotel and you will be on your way to the next destination; Albarracin, one of the best looking towns of all Spanish territory. Those walls have witnessed innumerable battles that forged the history of Spain and Europe, you can almost feel it when you stare at it. Have lunch at Albarracin then you will be on your way to the next and final hotel at Mora de Rubielos.
If flight allows it you will be visiting Mora de Rubielos, then, take your vehicle to a lovely nature reserve passing "Montañejos lake" then have lunch in Valencia and travel to the airport where you will check out your vehicle and take your flight.
